Amanda Savasky
Postpartum Doula
From a young age, I have been drawn to newborn babies, pregnancy and the birth process. I intuitively knew that this time is a unique and sacred experience. As I have supported families over the past 15 years in various roles, and as I myself have continued to grow, I have gained a fuller understanding of the immense support and care that is called for during the birthing and postpartum time. It is common in today’s fast-paced world to feel pressure to jump right back into all of life’s responsibilities shortly after giving birth. My goal is to remind and encourage birthing people to slow down and to revel in this unique moment as much as possible. As a doula specializing in postpartum care, I am here to support your rest and recovery to the fullest extent so that you may begin this next phase with strength and confidence.
I grew up in Santa Cruz, California and earned my B.A. in International Studies at the University of San Francisco. I moved to Denver, Colorado to work as a Program Coordinator with Denver Public Library’s Immigrant and Refugee Services Department, and greatly enjoyed that role for many years. Throughout that time, I continued to support numerous families through pregnancy and the initial postpartum phase in personal and professional capacities. I then received my full-spectrum doula certificate through Allo Doula Academy in Denver and transitioned to working full time as a postpartum doula. I am currently back in Santa Cruz and provide services here and in surrounding counties.
